Large Early Chitimacha Storage Basket
This was an unusual find due to the shape and size. The basket is double woven with the "Eyes of the Cattle" design.
It measures 13 X 13 X 4" D. There is an old collection tag which reads, "Chitimacha, Charenton Beach, LA". There is damage at one corner that can be seen in the photos. Wonderful old piece!
